How To Choose The Right Service Provider For Your Business
The answer is hidden in the question
Ever wondered why certain companies, brands, coaches and service providers stand head and shoulders above the rest?
You may be assuming that it has something to do with their branding or positioning. Perhaps they have a very large marketing budget so that they improve their visibility in the marketplace. Or maybe it’s their legacy and their long-standing authority in that domain that helps them stand out like a red tulip in a sea of yellow tulips.
But the truth, in my experience, is far simpler.
It all comes down to just one thing — Service
In the last 5 years — pretty much ever since I starting blogging professionally — I’ve noticed this single characteristic that helps me choose a service provider over a million others in their niche: Service and how they treat their clients/customers.
They Prioritize Service Above All Else
I remember when I signed up for a WordPress hosting service in 2016, because, at the time, it was the go-to hosting provider. Even WordPress promoted them heavily.
But within a year, I noticed that things were just not as rosy as promised. I spent countless hours staring at a ‘dead’ website and the support ticket would take hours to get updated. More often than not, I’d be bounced around from one representative to the next. Each time I’d have to repeat my problem all over again.
I still stuck with them, because I’d paid up front for 3 years of service. But my mid 2018, I’d had enough. I went hunting for another hosting service and came across the best, most transparent one around: Chemicloud.
So taken was I by their approachability — they have a free chat option for everyone, customers or not — that I signed up within 2 hours of speaking with them.
They Listen with Empathy
After that, everything seemed to magically fall into place. Any time I had a question, all I had to do was log on to the chat support and within 5 seconds, I’d be assigned a representative who’d discuss solutions with me patiently.
At no point did they make me feel awkward about my queries. Never did they dismiss a single question saying it was silly. That sealed my belief in their prowess. It’s coming up on 3 years with Chemicloud this November and I can guarantee that I’ll be staying with them well beyond 2021.
Service informs everything that they do, from ensuring client websites are maintained to answering queries in the space of a few minutes.
They Put the Customer Above Profit
In every interaction with a coach or service provider that I’ve enjoyed, this is always the first thing at the top of the mind — the needs of the customer.
When I first stumbled upon my coach George Kao, I remember feeling awed, both by his abundance mindset and the sheer volume of content that he’d created (& continues to create).
Finding myself resonating very strongly with the values he was professing, I was compelled to sign up for his newsletter. In that, he mentioned that I was welcome to respond and ask him any questions.
I did and was pleasantly surprised to receive a warm and thoughtful reply from him. What’s more, he didn’t try to sell me anything. He genuinely offered help when it was asked of him; that’s it.
After 2 years of interacting with marketers through sales funnels and always expecting to be sold to, this was such a pleasant and refreshing change.
That was a year ago. Since then, I’ve signed up for multiple courses of his, including his MasterHeart program. Today, I can attest to the fact that George Kao continues to be among the most genuine, authentic coaches out there. He will continue to serve you without any expectation of converting you to a client.
No agenda, no manipulation, and no tricks- that is the mark of a true service provider.
Takeaway
Infuse your work, your life, and your interactions with the spirit of service. You’d be amazed at how such a simple act can be transformative when it comes to building a loyal audience for your work and product.
