Four, three, two, one.

Four, three, two, one.

Four, . .

“Cut it out. It’s driving me nuts!”

“I can’t help it. I have to count or I miss a step.”

“Just do it in your mind then!”

They glared at one another, each waiting for the other to break eye contact.

Four, three. . .

“I swear to God, I’ll break your face!”

Tiny droplets of sweat had now turned into rivulets, snaking their way down each man’s temple, as tensions rose.
